Glue Laminated Beams, or Glulam from Dindas, is a natural structural material that is lighter to handle than the alternatives. It has an intrinsic beauty, is machinable in most cases on-site, and is biodegradable.
Several factors influence the choice of building materials, including cost, suitability, and design knowledge. Issues such as resource renewability, energy efficiency, and environmental friendliness are also becoming increasingly important. For environmentally-conscious designers, Glulam is a primary choice of structural material.
Substantial research has been conducted on Glulam over the past three decades, and it is now accepted worldwide as a structural material with known behavioural properties.
When exposed, a glulam structure adds warmth and beauty to a building. Glulam is commonly used as the finished product, unlike most other structural building materials.
Internal and External.
Glulam is an excellent choice for structural applications requiring high strength, durability and it is engineered to handle long spans with critical loads. Glulam offers greater strength and stiffness than similarly sized solid timber beams, allowing it to bear substantial loads.
It’s ideal for use as beams, rafters, columns, and posts, making it versatile in both residential and commercial construction.
