The Albanese Government has committed over $108 million in funding for timber manufacturing companies across the country through the Accelerate Adoption of Wood Processing Innovation grant program. This initiative will support a range of projects, including the production of activated carbon, housing and construction, packaging, and high-end culturally significant timber.
As a part of this program, four projects initiated by First Nations have been approved for funding. Over a four-year period (2022-2026), 34 successful business applications will receive between $1 million to $5 million in government funding. Moreover, there will be an additional investment of $361 million from the private and public sectors.
This funding will drive timber manufacturing innovation in the country, creating new opportunities and strengthening the economy. Dindas Australia has also secured funding under this scheme for innovation and technology.
