Dindas Australia is deeply committed to engaging with the community, and this commitment was showcased through our successful sponsorship of the Western City Tigers – NSW. The team achieved a remarkable victory in the under-14 girls division 1 grand final, demonstrating our dedication to nurturing local talent and fostering community spirit.
The grand final took place at Peppertree Oval in St Clair, where the Western City Tigers faced off against the formidable St Mary’s, the reigning champions for the past three years. This year, the Tigers, fueled by determination and resilience, emerged victorious in an unforgettable match.
Our Operations Manager at the NSW branch, Tom Fisher, played an integral role in this journey, not only as a valued employee and a proud father. His daughter, Aaliyah, a member of the Western City Tigers, played a crucial part in dethroning their long-time rivals. Over the past two years, the Tigers have tirelessly faced St Mary’s, determined to rewrite their story. Despite previous defeats, the team entered the grand final with renewed determination.
The game was a nail-biter. The Tigers led at halftime with a score of 10-6, and as the clock ticked down, they maintained a slim lead of 16-12. Then, in a dramatic twist, St Mary’s scored, tying the game and pushing it into overtime. St Mary’s struck first in overtime, but the Tigers, undeterred, responded with a try and a successful conversion in the final minute, sealing their victory at 22-20.
This win is a significant milestone for the team and their supporters, including Tom, who expressed heartfelt gratitude:
“Hi, Team! I would like to thank you all very much for Dindas Australia being the sponsor for my daughter’s team.”
The Western City Tigers’ success is a shining example of the impact of Dindas Australia’s annual sponsorship budget. Under the guidance of managers Sophia Bose and Kirstie Nowland, coach Brendan Bose, and trainers Aisea Cocker and Fuatai Apulu, the team has shown that with the proper support, anything is possible.
As we celebrate this remarkable achievement, we are reminded of the influence of community investment and the joy of supporting young athletes as they pursue their dreams. Here’s to the Western City Tigers and to many more victories ahead. Go, team Dindas!
