The complete treatment solution

For the past 35+ years, Dindas Australia has been setting standards for reliability, customer value, and quality in light organic solvent preservative (LOSP) treated timber. We provide a range of treatment classifications for solid pine and engineered timber, including I-Joists, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), laminated beams, plywood, framing, outdoor structural timber, skirtings and mouldings.

LOSP treatment, unlike water-based pressure treatments, does not increase the timber’s moisture content, meaning no drying process is required after the treatment, and the timber maintains its original size, shape and strength grading. The LOSP treatment option also gives us the advantages of enabling fast turnaround on customer orders, eliminating the need for large, costly storage areas and drying facilities, and ultimately providing our valued consumers with a reliable, cost-effective product.

Our LOSP process for treated timber also has the added advantage of maintaining dimensional stability during and after pressure treatment due to moisture levels remaining relatively consistent – perfect for the precise tolerances of engineered timber products. The timber treatment varies in colour, with our H3 option being the only clear, durable option on the market. This exclusive clear coat treatment offers the natural tones of featured products to be preserved in visible applications.

The Dindas treatment facility provides custom services for merchants and wholesalers with the capability to treat timber to an impressive 13.2 metres in length, along with years of technical expertise to match specific treatments to specific requirements. Treatments used by Dindas are supplied by our chemical partners, Koppers Performance Chemicals, who regularly provide specialist auditing of our plant to test and review the quality and consistency of Koppers’s treatments in our range of products.

From architects and building designers to landscapers and homeowners, you can rest assured that when specifying timber from the treated range for all structural, outdoor, and above-ground building needs.

Appearance

Dindas Australia’s standard LOSP timber treatments feature a coloured dye coating for treatment range identification and tracing purposes. For optimal results, it is recommended to use acrylic coating options, as the dyes can bleed through many paints and decorative finishes.

Water Repellent

All LOSP Timber treatments offered by Dindas Australia feature a specially formulated water-repellent resin and wax system. This solution reduces water absorption during construction, enhancing the timber’s dimensional stability.

Coatings and Sealants

Always refer to the label of your finishing product and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for optimal results.

  • Dindas LOSP treated timber is compatible with most industrial alkyd-based joinery primers once the timber has fully dried after treatment.
  • For a long-lasting finish with alkyd-based primers, ensure subsequent on-site preparation and top coating are performed as recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Note that some acrylic primers may not be suitable for timber treated with LOSP preservatives. Consulting the paint manufacturer or a qualified agent is advisable.
  • LOSP timber treatments work well with most sealants and mastics, provided manufacturer instructions are followed.
  • For interior applications, if the timber becomes wet during construction, it should be allowed to dry before being covered or enclosed.

Our commitment to customer satisfaction and product excellence ensures that you always get the best results.

Nails, Fasteners and Fittings

You can confidently use fasteners and hardware that comply with building codes for their intended use. LOSP treatments do not increase the corrosion risk of fixings and fittings, ensuring safety and durability.

Peace of mind 25-year guarantee

Dindas has built a reputation as a leader in timber treatment. From engineered wood products to landscape products to structural framing and appearance-grade timber, our wood treatment process enables a sustainable natural resource to last longer than it otherwise could. LOSP treatment is the most advanced, proven, water-free timber treatment, providing superior protection against termite and fungal attacks.

Dindas Australia utilises Koppers PROTIM Chemicals for our LOSP H2 treatments, ensuring superior protection for 25 years guaranteed* against subterranean termites and wood-boring beetles when timber is exposed to H2 conditions. This assurance is backed by our commitment to quality, provided the timber meets or exceeds the Australian Standard AS1604.

With Dindas, you choose expertise, reliability, and a dedication to innovative, high-quality solutions.
